You Can’t Teach a Stuffed Dog New Tricks

While the stuffed cow that Uncle Halbert got him when he was born is still Dominic’s favorite toy, this little puppy comes in a close second.

Under the Table and Drooling

No comment on this one, we just thought he looked cute.

Just Out of Reach

Most of our tables at home now resemble the night stand seen here. Dominic has taken it upon himself to investigate everything that he can reach on any table in the house. This includes remote controls, cups, fingernail clippers or anything else that we leave laying out. Instead of picking up after ourselves, we’ve so far been able to just push things further away from the edge of the table. But, keep away becomes more difficult as he grows more and more, and masters the art of tippy-toe standing.

Something Fishy

Yes, we know this is a longer upload than usual for the blog, but Dominic got to go to the Newport Aquarium on Saturday and we wanted to share pictures of us enjoying the field trip and photos of some of the things we saw.
We didn’t keep track of all of the names of the fish and birds that we saw, so Finny McFish, Sharky Von Sharpteeth and Birdie de Poopedondadshead (sound the last one out) will have to suffice.
Thanks as always, for looking at the blog.

Dominic Visits Vandi and Alex

Dominic got to meet one of his dad’s oldest friends on Sunday during a visit to Vandi and her fiancĂ© Alex’s house in Greensburg.
The highlights of the trip were seeing the turtles in her aquarium, looking at Vandi and Alex’s many nice paintings and playing with a pair of Incredible Hulk boxing gloves.

4th of July Fun

Dominic celebrated his first 4th of July on Tuesday with a parade and town-wide picnic in the small river town of Patriot, (how fitting for the day) Indiana. He also got to meet his Great Aunt Amy, Great Uncle Richard, and second cousin’s Chelsea and Richie.
During the parade, Dominic sat with his Mom, Dad, Great Aunt Amy, and his Mimi (Great-Great Grandmother).
Dominic’s Pap (Great-Great Grandfather) rode in the parade with Great Uncle Richard, Chelsea and Richie. Pap was in the parade because he served as the town fire chief in the 1960’s.
Dominic was proud to see all of his relatives in the parade, and waved his flag as they passed by.
After the parade, Dominic was passed around all of the relatives while Mom and Dad got a bite to eat. Once Mom was done, she fed Dominic some tasty morsels including chicken, potato casserole and beans.

Saturday at the Park

Dominic went with Mom and Dad to an air show and fireworks display on Saturday night. Mom had to hold her hands over Dominic’s ears when the biplane got too close, because the sound of the motor was a bit frightening to him. Other than that, he seemed to enjoy the evening, however, he was more interested in people watching than in the plane or the pyrotechnics.

Dominic Smiles and giggles at all of the people sitting around us while we wait for the airshow and fireworks
Mom and Dominic watch a daredevil biplane pilot do loops over the river.
Mom holds her hands over Dominic's ears to quiet the sounds of the plane engine
Dad gives the boy a fist hand feeling of what it is like to fly through the air like the biplane pilot. Dominic misses most of the actual fireworks show as he watches the light and color play across the faces in the crowd.
